Description

A Large Opening Pleated Mesh is a retractable mosquito mesh system designed for wide doorways and large openings, such as balcony entrances, French doors, patios, and large sliding doors. It uses a pleated (accordion-fold) mesh screen inside an aluminium frame that can cover wide areas while folding compactly when opened.

These systems are popular in modern homes because the pleated mesh folds into a slim frame and does not occupy extra space, making them ideal for wide openings that require ventilation and insect protection.

What is a Large Opening Pleated Mesh?

A large opening pleated mesh system consists of multiple pleated mesh panels installed within an aluminium frame. The mesh panels slide horizontally and fold neatly like an accordion when opened.

Unlike traditional flat sliding mesh doors, the pleated design compresses into a small space (about 25–50 mm) when retracted, making it suitable for wide openings without blocking the doorway.

How the System Works

1. Aluminium Frame Installation
The frame is installed around the large door opening.

2. Pleated Mesh Panels
One or more mesh panels are fitted with accordion folds.

3. Sliding Track Mechanism
Panels slide along top and bottom tracks.

4. Center Locking System
Panels meet at the center and close magnetically.

5. Compact Folding
When opened, the mesh folds into the side frame.

Types of Large Opening Pleated Mesh Systems

1. Single Pleated System

• Mesh slides from one side

• Suitable for small-to-medium openings

2. Double Pleated System

• Two mesh panels slide from both sides

• Best for wide balcony doors

3. Multi-Panel Pleated System

• Multiple panels for very large openings

• Used in villas and commercial buildings

Pleated mosquito mesh systems are widely recommended for balcony and French doors because the foldable mesh moves smoothly across wide openings while maintaining airflow and visibility.
